About Whitney
Whitney (she/her) is a Black queer woman who comes to this work as a Creative Arts Therapist. She utilizes action approaches including Drama Therapy and Psychodrama with groups and is extremely connected to the creative arts’ capacity to provide an environment for folks to develop new possibilities that support their mental health. Whitney loves to play, laugh, create, and explore, while integrating a holistic strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to community wellness and the therapeutic journey. Whitney appreciates embodied practices, therapeutic theater, art making, journaling, and mindfulness techniques as valuable forms of self expression. She holds space for processing, healing, and growth for a diverse group of folks as she aims to ground this meaningful work in creativity and authenticity.
Whitney earned her M.A. in Drama Therapy from New York University in 2020 and is a Certified Psychodramatist and a Practitioner Applicant for Trainer. She aims to always be a student of life and believes that each and every person and encounter can be meaningful, powerful, and transformative. Whitney is delighted to cocreate magical and abundant experiences that move us towards collective wellness and liberation.
