About TSJ, Inc.

The Theater for Social Justice is a nonprofit organization based in Sarasota, Florida dedicated to helping people learn, heal, and grow through interactive group experiences that blend theater and experiential group therapy practices known as psychodrama and sociodrama..

Our programs are led by a seasoned licensed mental health counselor and board-certified trainer, educator, and practitioner in psychodrama, sociometry, and group psychotherapy, Daisy Martinez-DiCarlo, along with a network of scholarly contributors and collaborators.

Using proven, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, ethical community centered practice models and evidence-based methods, we create supportive spaces where individuals and communities can explore real-life challenges, build understanding, and connect with one another. Our work centers on promoting well-being, strengthening communities, and supporting human rights.

Through storytelling, role-playing, and guided group activities, participants have the opportunity to safely explore personal and shared experiences and to receive training and psychodrama certification hours to provide experiential group therapy to their communities. By combining theatrical arts with group therapeutic practices, we help people discover new perspectives, build resilience, and develop practical tools for navigating everyday life.
